While this is true, I don't really agree with ignoring the bad stuff when leaders die. But these people are doing the same thing

They are ignoring all the good (the great really) and writing it off.

As a people (in the US at least) we seem to view people as good or bad. Villain or Hero. (Not racially:) black or white.

We don't deal with grey (which is all reality is made up of) well at all.
