At the same time, look how reviled the IRA was and still is. How is fighting to end oppression based on race somehow noble enough to look past the bad done toward that end, but doing the same for a group (another terrorist organization) fighting for an end to oppression based on religion is something that will never happen?
Probably not a discussion best had in conjunction with the passin of Mandela, but it's something I've often wondered about.
