I'll just say this...


I do think a free market economy should be expected to self-correct to a degree. I don't know if I go as far to say the gov't should do *nothing*, but I think it would be healthier for the gov't to take different actions... instead of just printing more money and spreading it around (to the people who *deserve* it, of course), how about switching the ratios of spending vs. tax cuts.

Yes, the gov't grew under Reagan and Bush, but it only grew in close proportion to GDP. Maybe when the economy contracts, it's appropriate for the gov't to contract along with it, instead of expanding even faster because "we have to do SOMETHING".
