this is the message going around on FB. I have to say, i don't think we need a state of emergency called either (of course, Rob Ford just took his family to a hotel, not everyone can afford that.)

but a state of emergency would mean that resources could be redirected to Toronto from surrounding areas. Well, those areas got hit as bad as we did..

The FB message i keep seeing:
So as I understand it Toronto Hydro thinks we should declare a state of emergency. Many City officials think we should declare a state of emergency. But the one person who can declare a state of emergency, our illustrious mayor, doesn't want to because he'd lose the limited powers he retains until the emergency is over.

Hope whoever the people who still support him aren't in a rush to get their power back on. And hope everyone remembers this Christmas's Grinch on election day.
