an awful lot of contradictions and room for interpretation within the words that makes "strict adherence" to the bible a logical fallacy. It is all a matter of interpretation and points of emphasis. So I always come back to what are the general themes and what was the context (and how has context changed) when interpreting any text (legal or spiritual) to try and understand the meaning and intent. I think "strict adherence" has forever been a divisive concept that leads to problems ranging from intolerance to war.
