This story would be better if I had a kid. But I did take my nephew to a game at Fenway. And now that he's married, he'll soon be able to take his kid to Fenway (except that he lives in Seattle).
Anyway, my point is that with today's disposable parks, these kids of traditions are becoming rarer and rarer.
