other than sniping bots, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I set a bid, and want to forget it until it's done - but don't want to lose by $0.37 or something.

No, it is better to just set it at your max bid. It might help to set it a few cents less than a bid increment, but probably not much. -- nm - GregW Dec 31, 10:03
