much requires a dedicated machine to do and you won't have any success doing it with your PC. You might successfully min *a* BitCoin doing it that way.
But the main attraction is that it allows transactions to occur that provide anonymity. So the biggest users are people looking to evade the law and sell illicit goods and products.
