mid season it didn't seem likely GB would make playoffs so few fans put money up to buy tickets, (not refunded, just applied to next year's season tix

so a lot of fans didn't want to prepay next years (though otherwise there is a 30 year waiting list to get season seats)
then at the week before there was the expectation of the deep freeze hitting way below zero and windchill of -30 even GB fans know that is serious.
I think a lot of businesses bought and gave away tix
