yeah, the larger breeds, 11-12 is when it kind of starts going downhill.

my Husky was 11 when we had to put her down, and my lab-cocker mix made it to 16 pretty comfortably.
This dog has been overweight for much of her life, no matter what we did, she would not drop the weight. (she at a whole 40 pound bag of dog food when she was 3 when we were at work one day) Weight loss food and walks did not help, so I expected her to have a shorter life expectency because of that.
