I assume any amenity in a hotel that isn't profitable should be axed. They're not in the charity business.

If mini-bars and room service are profitable, then do it. If not, then ax it. Some hotels will give you a butler that will be at your beck and call. I don't expect that at a Holiday Inn Express, nor should you.
