(Surprising) good news from the vet - but no other news, which is frustrating.

No signs of cancer. She said she's shocked. Platelet levels look okay. No signs of inflamed organs. Liver is okay.

Nothing seems amiss, other than the existing issue with his back. Even that is something they can't quite put their finger on. The issue with one of the discs on his back is so slight that they're not really even sure what the issue is.

So the plan for now is to up the treatment of the pain management. Higher dosages of the meds he's on, and adding muscle relaxers to the mix. We'll try this for 2 weeks, then slowly wean him back down to the dosages he's on now. Hopefully that gives his body enough time to relax and fix whatever this new problem is so we can just deal with the existing back issue. If we wean him back to normal levels and he continues to show signs of massive pain, then Will and I will be making some hard decisions. We can't let that dog live in pain like that.
