You are dealing with a demon that can jump bodies. You last encountered it in a police station, but it jumped out of the last body you knew it was in. So, it obviously jumped into someone else in the station. Logic would then dictate that when you go to hide the person the demon is after you avoid taking anyone (let alone two people) who was present in the station at that time.
