One of the things that stops me from fully saying "no, stay out of it" is that he is a leader in our society.

As a result, he, in part, sets the societal tone on acceptance of gay rights and gay people, particularly in his district. If he is gay, he damn well knows that the suicide rate among gay youth is higher than average and yet he, as a leader and public figure, continues to foster an environment that is unaccepting of/to them.
That part of me wants to say "fuck him, I hope their are dirty pictures on the front of every paper"
It's just...really complicated.
