New York writers often have a hatey boner or disdain for CA/LA. I don't think that's any kind of secret

NY writers who write about CA/LA are usually disdainful, misinformed, use outdated stereotypes, and feed NYer's superiority complex about being a city. They always want to reassure insecure New Yorkers that their city is the best. That GQ article about LA I posted a few days ago is an example. It was a good read, but he constantly referenced preconceptions of stereotypical LA that he magnanimously admitted turned out to be false or out of date.
