And the story has been that HHH/Stephanie and maybe Vince don't believe he fits what a "face of the company" looks like. If they've been telling the story properly since SummerSlam, when he won and then HHH screwed him, WrestleMania ends with him holding the title.
I don't know what they were trying with the Wyatt storyline, but I have to think they aborted it because somebody finally realized how fricking popular he is.
