I've kind of come around to "Apocolypto"...(spoilers)

It definitely would have benefited from another strong personality or two on set to modulate Gibson as left to his own devices he'll just show you a cow going through a meat grinder and the resulting hamburger on a plate...the Monty Python blood gushers were really too much.

And removing just one or two elements from the wife's horrific end scene would have brought it back to believable...you expect a Predator to show up that she'd have to fight off...while standing on one foot...up to her neck in water...with a toddler on her shoulders...while giving birth. Even Kim on "24" thinks that's a busy day.

All that being typed...I can't deny that when it's on I watch it. It's worth it for the first scene in the city.
