In Seattle we lived across the street from QFC and next door to Whole Foods
Here, the corner market is less tha 2 blocks away.

when I lived in LA I was a block from 2 grocers -- nm

when we moved to LA in late 60's my dad walked from the motel to some store a block away, the cops jaked him, spread on the wall
