You're always hung-up on this "physical format" idea. Well, DVD sales overall (which include BluRay) are sliding.

As streaming and on-demand options improve, they'll slide more.
Personally I stopped purchasing discs for the most part years ago and only buy the occasional one here or there (usually TV seasons when they're on sale for $20 or less). DVDs just take up space and they look ugly on a shelf.
