The director's cut is a completely different movie (at least in my humble opinion)

My big problem with the theatrical release was that it was an action movie with little character development or story context. But the director's cut is immensely better. A nice little historical drama with great character development and interactions, along with some great action scenes that spice up the dramatic tension.
