My main concern I would need to address is whether or not it's a finanically sound decision.

On the surface, it's not. I pay no rent. This would be rent. Strict dollars and cents, it doesn't add up.
I have to determine if getting out on my own (or, on my own-ish, if you will) is worth that cost.
