What frustrates me is that what budice said below is correct. They were ignoring a lot of stuff to let the players decide the game. After the American player was tackled, they had no choice but to call a penalty. The slashing call felt like a makeup call. There was contact and a player went down so they called it.
That call decided the game. It's unfortunate because that was brilliant hockey we were all enjoying.
