I'm wondering if this a regional thing. Even stations that are in the middle of the street around here have two driveways so one can enter the pumps

from either direction depending if one enters from the first driveway or the second.
Apparently in California we aren't organized enough to have dedicated entry and exits and thus a single direction of traffic
