Do any of the school offer before-care? It's expensive, but it would cure your issue for good. -- nm

We do after care at all 3. Before care consists of hanging out in the gym until the bell rings, so I guess that qualifies. No charge for that. -- nm

speaking of this, it's crazy to me what school rules about pickup and dropoff are here. kids aren't allowed to walk home alone until 7th grade.

When I was 5 and my brother 7, we walked about 10-12 blocks to and from school.

Oh yeah, and walked in first grade. Two blocks. Small town and the school was at the entrance to our subdivision.

After the divorce we moved to the big city. 6th grade. First day, I tried riding the bus home for the first day in my life.

hmm, my son's school has varied start times, so the traffic going in is not horrible for him. nm -- nm

His start time is 9:05. So the parents that work at 9 get there before. I know that if I wait until 8:55 it will not be bad.
