FaceOff spoiler question from last week's ep

I finally saw the 'Cryptid' episode last night. Question - Why do folks think Corinne set Matt up to fail? It's not like he was so great and a real threat to her or any of the top artists. (At least I don't think so.) I agree the makeup wasn't good and enough work wasn't done, but why would she feel the need to do that? I think he was perfectly capable of failing himself without her help. He knew she was immune and he didn't do much of anything to protect himself and he chose her. IMO if I had immunity I'd be trying to take out either Rashaad, Litchfield or Rashaad's partner from last week (can't remember his name but I think he has a goatee.) Those guys are actually good and a threat down the road.
