Some of you will know what inspires this.
3 million people are killed in a major city. The entire world thinks it's the result of an off-world attack and bands together. This event basically eliminates hostilities between nations as they focus on an outward threat.
However, the deaths are actually the result of a plan put in place by one group to force peace on a world at the brink of nuclear war.
The question: You know who did it and you know why they did it. Do you keep quiet, accepting the 3 million deaths as a small price to pay for world peace or do you reveal the secret to the world at large?
I think I would reveal the secret. The goal is noble, but the means are intolerable.

It's like if you cheated on your spouse a decade ago but never since (and likely won't again). Do you tell her?

Qualifier: I would reveal it if I stumbled upon the *plot* to carry out these actions, but not after they were done (if the goal was a success). -- nm

I would reveal the secret. Human nature would pretty much mean we'd be back to the brike of nuclear war within a few months anyway -- nm
