i really feel like you have to walk into a place and feel it. it doesn't mean the place has to be in good shape, it just has to sort to speak to you

like, it should belong to *you*.
of course, if it is strictly for investment, that's totally irrelevant. but you need to account for how you will handle repairs, etc, and extra costs, if you aren't in the country.
