there's some hokey bits in there but for the most part it holds up pretty good. there's the usual horror plot holes--donald pleasance and victor wong especially get failing grades for sitting around talking about the looming evil while they let students work alone in random rooms around a creepy church, all the while not even bothering to keep an eye on the Container of Darkness--but the plot is actually not all that bad in the main for keeping things moving.

and the last twenty minutes is cut in *genius* fashion. some of the effects work is a little dodgy, but it's put together so well it doesn't really even matter. the ending is pretty great, too.
