we had one hell of a weather 'statement' last night, no warning, no distant rumbles, just one flash, BOOOOM of thunder

I thought someone snapped a flash photo through the window...then all hell broke loose for a few seconds as one of the loudest thunder cracks exploded not too far, it was only a short gap between flash and boom
