He was so obviously what Raylan's future is if Raylan doesn't start getting his shit tight. Eric's DEA Agent also has kids he doesn't see, and treats his co-workers like shit. He drinks too much and in the final humiliation gets run over to death by a Crowe. His 15 year relationship with Hot-Rod parallels Raylan's relationship with Boyd. Eric Roberts character sould have had 'Raylan's Future' tattoeed across his forehead in blood for all of his scenes.
