In response to "our rate is 2.59 fixed...giggity" by Beaker

Yeah, we seriously considered fixed in 2011 when we were picking, but landed a 2.25% varible and are ecstatic we took the risk.

Had budgeted on a 0.25% per year increase with a buffer if it went up a half-point per. That we're now in the latter half of the term with it having not budged once, I figure it has saved us at least $6,000 thus far over our best fixed offer.
