The people who want a DRM-free mp4 amuse me. Other than Netflix and Amazon, I don't know a format more universal for playback on your tv than UV.

Even iTunes would have limited the scope. MP4 files would have limited playback to computers and those savvy enough to know how to deliver MP4 to their TVs.
