Yes, she should have told him she was trans. Yes, if I was in his situation I would probably have similar issues and consider it a deception.

But it's the dating the ex's sister - who was involved in the break-up - getting upset because her family won't take her side and then not wanting her to reconcile with her family that makes him sound like a jerk.
