I can't imagine being in a relationship with someone and not truly knowing anything about their past. That's what would happen in a scenario where a transgendered person hides that fact from a new love interest.
She knew it could make him reconsider the relationship, and she hid it any way. Plus, how could he have truly know her with this big a secret being hidden?
