My ears are probably just slow, but they expect signing to go with the music, and not the more spoken word approach of rap (though I realize rap is really not spoken word).

I certainly have found some rap songs that I like, and I greatly respect the talent it takes to rap, I just don't enjoy it in general and it feels like it's taken over so much of music.
