Leo was brilliant.
If a film is meant to evoke emotion, it's an A+. Within 30 minutes, I wanted to see these characters suffer immense physical pain.
However, it's such a long-winded unnecessarily bloated movie, that I struggle to wonder what Marty was doing. Did he not realize that these characters were already noxious after about 60 minutes? Did we really need to see another 115 minutes of the same behavior to get they have zero redeeming qualities?
And then, as the coup de grace, he fucking puts the villain in the movie as a cameo which makes you question whether he's trying to actively celebrate this useless human being's miserable existance.
It was ultimately just a complete ode to excess without any clear point made; but with the lingering image of the criminal being celebrated.
If it wasn't Marty and Leo wasn't brilliant, this garbage is regarded as a piece of shit movie imo.
