if it had been a 5yr show, maybe...but they dragged out the Robin/Ted ridiculousness for years past the expiration date of that relationship.

Series finales are about growth; and having the series end with another merry-go-round on that relationship was not desired by many.

Kill the mom off...that's fine; that's surprisingly gutsy.

Ending it with Robin ... ugh.

Either they wrote that relationship badly for 9 years with this as the plan; or they shat on 9 years by giving the mom's death all of 3 seconds and then, hey back to Robin dad!
