well, Maternity for 15 weeks and Parental for 35. so, yes, 50, but the 35 weeks can be split between the parents (so dad can take some/all)

out of every pay cheque comes an amount for EI, the employer puts in 1.4 times and that covers it plus if you get laid off etc -- nm

and it isn't a set amount. varies. if you make $2k a week you'd get $1100 but if you made 200 you'd get 110 as an example -- nm

yep. it is the same as if you got laid off, you get the same amount. but your job is protected for the duration by law as well. -- nm
