I've seen that said before, but I disagree. I think Carol would have been smarter, would have watched longer than Rick and his group did. I think she would have watched to see how they greeted people. Possibly sent Tyreese in while she held on to Judith. Then followed if it seemed safe, and snuck in and freed him at night when it didn't.
