I didn't read the article linked above so this might be mentioned there, but I saw in an article I read yesterday that

this was the photographer's idea. She has an 11 year old and imagined how hard it would be for her daughter to not have her dad at her wedding. So now they can display a picture/video at this girl's wedding of her dad "walking her down the aisle", if she so chooses.
I think it's sweet.
