I never watched it when it was on, but I just crunched through six seasons of episodes. It was 100% in my wheelhouse. (spoils)

I mean, referencing Robocop in an episode with Peter Weller ... or Corbin Bernsen complaining about the hairstyles on *LA LAW*.
The only time they faltered, I felt, is in the episode where Despereaux dies. Shawn says he's never had a close friend die before ... but him and Gus dressed in squash gear for Mary Lightly's funeral before that. So it was somewhat odd. Granted, he was far more enamoured with Despereaux than Mary Lightly, but still.
