In my experience, it's more usual to refer to the party by name in the defined terms, and then use the defined term throughout the agreement.

For example, you'd have in the definitions "The Contractor is Mr Znufrii" and then through the rest of the agreement, refer to the party as "The Contractor". "The Contractor will do XXX" or "The Contractor is not liable for YYYY"
