The first report I heard on the radio this morning was a 61yr old ped was killed by a police cruiser (lights on, responding to something)

In part because the dumbass wasn't in the crosswalk. Anecdotally I'd guess most of the pedestrians killed around DC are outside the crosswalk or crossing against the signal.
