My mom hasn't sold my childhood house yet (it's on the market though) but she just signed the purchase agreement on a newer, smaller place.

The association fees cover all home repairs and maintenance, which makes her happy, as she was tired of doing everything at the current house. It is too big of a house and too much upkeep for one person. I'm happy for her, but still a bit sad.
