mara, if you're still around, what's to do in & around Evansville that you would recommend?

I can't get a room where I originally planned on spending the July 4th weekend so I'm looking at places I've not been to yet that are within 3 hours of me. I know about the casino and the Mounds (I would check out both). Museums are good if there's something different there.

Are there any unique restaurants (meaning non-chain) you like?

Anything nearby you would say is worth a short drive (up to an hour/90 minutes away - assuming I can't keep myself occupied for 2 days in Evansville)?

Can I buy you a beer if I go?

Well, the Museum is pretty average, but I'd recommend it anyway. :-) Also the Reitz Home, which is a preserved Victorian mansion. There's a zoo with - mara Jun 9, 15:29 7
