Very much so. Everyone knew each other and the families hung out together often. In the summer the men played dominoes under the street lights and the

women hung out on a stoop and chatted while telling at the kids to be careful. The kids on the block played together every day and every game imaginable. I remember so many wiffle ball games on the corner and making skelly caps to play with.
