Slugs may also be a problem, but ours are much smaller. No cherries, but loads of berries, but the thorns on them keep the squirrela at bay.

Though I do have to pick the gooseberries early because racoons figured out how to get around the spikes.
And we get cherries from the Michigan farmers at the farmers market, almost as good as Washington cherries, but more expensive.
