Depends on the severity and location. Had three friends break their ankles last year,

One was simple and took 6 weeks to be back to normal, one took surgeries and about 4 months to be walking without crutches, and nearly a year to be back to normal.

mafic's right, it could be both. But, personally, I think a leg generally heals faster and more completely than an ankle ...

Why not both? The complicated friend broke both ankle and fibula, or maybe tibia. -- nm
