First controversy, people were ticked off at the abrupt ending and the amount of time that the screen was just black.
Second, people said they didn't know if Tony got shot.
I've always believed that the shootings are shown from Tony's point of view, and the black screen represents what he sees (that is, nothing) when he gets shot.
