but it helps to know I have friends that can jump on the train and visit should something go wrong.

That said, I never got "stuck" overnight when I lived there. Delays, sure. But never stuck. I did get stuck there once before moving there, but that was a mechanical on a 777 to London, not a weather issue.

They put me up at the Bates Motel* that has since been torn down (I cheered)
